Punta Gorda Garden Club Supports the Following
Local, State, and National Projects

Local

Arbor Day – Tree plantings in the community. Assist the City of Punta Gorda with their program for elementary school children.
Blanchard House Museum – An African American Museum contributing to the beautification of their grounds.
Charlotte County Home and Garden Show – Display promoting club membership
Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center – Supporting their education of the public on environmental awareness.
Charlotte County Public Schools: East ElementarySallie Jones – Hand on projects.
Charlotte Harbor Natural Estuary Program – Contribution towards protecting the natural environment of Florida.
College Scholarships – Students from Port Charlotte High School, Charlotte High School, Lemon Bay High School and Southwest Florida Collegiate High School are eligible for club provided scholarships in the Environmental Field of studies
Green Thumbs Gardeners – Monetary donation for the Nature Park
ECHO: Educational Concerns Hunger Organization – Contribution to their fighting world hunger.
First United Methodist Church – Holiday decorating for the Sanctuary and Bryant Life Center
Peace River Wildlife Center – Monetary donation for the upkeep of the wildlife sanctuary
Public Gardens: History Park Heritage Garden, Laishley Friendship Garden, Punta Gorda Library Gardens, Punta Gorda Woman’s Club Quiet Garden- The club maintains these gardens with
monthly workdays providing plants, mulch and general upkeep.
Punta Gorda Habitat for Humanity – Monetary donation for landscaping of Habitat Homes.
TEAM Punta Gorda – Partnership in beautification of Punta Gorda
