About the Role:

We’re looking for a highly strategic and analytical Business Analytics Director, Retail to join the Ashley Digital data team. This role sits at the intersection of data, retail strategy, market intelligence, and business decision-making. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys tackling complex business challenges and driving meaningful change through analysis, strategic recommendations, and cross-functional influence. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with strategic thinking and is equally comfortable building analyses, conducting market research, influencing stakeholders, and shaping long-term business strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Analyze retail performance across stores, regions, customer segments, and channels to identify growth opportunities and operational inefficiencies.
  • Develop strategic recommendations around store footprint optimization, expansion opportunities, market selection, cannibalization, retail vs. wholesale/channel strategy, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Conduct competitive and market intelligence research, including competitor expansion, pricing and assortment strategies, local market dynamics, and emerging retail trends.
  • Evaluate the optimal balance between digital and physical retail, including the impact of stores on customer acquisition, market penetration, fulfillment economics, and overall business performance.
  • Lead complex analytical projects from problem definition through recommendation and execution support.
  • Partner closely with marketing, merchandising, finance, operations, and executive leadership to support strategic planning and key business decisions.
  • Identify data gaps and help shape the analytical foundations required to support more effective decision-making.
  • Build analytical frameworks, business cases, and executive-ready presentations that influence strategic direction.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data-driven strategy, or related fields, with a proven track record of translating complex data into business recommendations.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics or related field
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous business questions into actionable analyses and recommendations.
  • Experience working directly with large datasets and analytical tools to generate insights and support decision-making.
