What this role involves

UX/UI Designer, Production & Execution - Direct Contract

  • Location: Remote
  • Type: Contract (long-term fractional, with potential for full-time conversion based on business need)
  • Reports To: Director of Design
  • Start: ASAP

As Cro Metrics continues to scale its integrated growth marketing services, the Design team is expanding to meet rising demand across CRO experimentation, website design and development, lifecycle marketing, and paid media. This is part of a strategic hiring plan to bring on reliable, high-quality design talent that can operate with consistency and speed across our full service offering and strengthen our creative, strategic, and technical design capabilities.

We’re hiring designers at two levels:

  • Production & Execution — an execution-focused role for designers who translate hypotheses and creative direction into polished, pixel-perfect deliverables, on time and on budget. This designer executes across our full range of service lines — CRO experimentation, website design, lifecycle marketing, and paid media. The focus is consistent, high-quality output at pace.
  • Senior, Strategic & Client-Facing — a strategic and technical role for designers who own both the thinking and the execution: shaping UX strategy and design systems, presenting to clients, and producing high-fidelity work across our service lines.

You don’t need to choose which one to apply for. Apply once, and we’ll calibrate the right level and fit together throughout the interview process based on your experience, portfolio, and how you work. The two levels share the same foundation; the difference is scope of ownership, seniority, and how much strategic and client-facing responsibility you’ll carry.

Both are long-term fractional contractor roles. Most contractors stay on contract. The relationship is designed to be sustainable at part-time hours. Conversion to full-time employment happens selectively when there’s a clear business need and mutual interest. Either way, we’re looking for someone we can build with long-term.

About Cro Metrics

At Cro Metrics, we’re on a mission to redefine growth for organizations and brands through unparalleled digital experiences that inspire action and deliver results. We are an experiment-led growth marketing agency that partners with mission-driven and high-growth companies to scale through data-driven experimentation. Our expertise spans A/B testing, personalization, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and full-funnel digital strategy — empowering clients to make smarter decisions that drive measurable results.

Our fully remote team of strategists, analysts, engineers, and designers works across industries including eCommerce, fintech, nonprofit, and hospitality. We believe in autonomy, collaboration, and innovation as we help our clients grow smarter and faster. Our proprietary platform, Iris, unifies analytics, testing, creative, and roadmaps in one system — with AI-powered tools that predict test outcomes, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and surface insights instantly.

About the Role

Designers at Cro Metrics take written briefs, hypotheses, and creative direction and translate them into polished, production-ready designs, from experiment variations and landing pages to email templates and paid media creative. Speed, accuracy, and craft are the trademarks of the team across both levels.

Where the two levels differ:

Level 1 — Designer, Production & Execution

You’re the engine behind our design output. You translate strategy and creative direction into polished, pixel-perfect deliverables at pace, working within established design systems and brand guidelines across multiple clients and channels. This level is ideal for a designer who takes pride in executional excellence, thrives with clear direction, and can manage a high volume of deliverables without sacrificing quality. (Typically 2–4 years of relevant experience.)

Level 2 — Senior Designer, Strategic & Client-Facing

You own the thinking and the execution — from shaping UX strategy and design systems to producing high-quality deliverables across website redesigns, landing pages, paid media, and lifecycle marketing. You collaborate deeply with strategists, engineers, analysts, and clients, present your work directly, and help mature Cro Metrics’ AI-powered design capabilities. This level is ideal for a designer who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working at the intersection of strategy, technology, and design, and wants meaningful ownership over the quality and impact of design work. (Typically 5–8+ years of relevant experience.)

How the Engagement Starts

The first 5–10 business days are a paid evaluation period. You’ll do real client work at your full contract rate. At the end, we’ll either continue the engagement, extend the evaluation for a few more days if we need more signal, or end the engagement — and in all three cases, we’ll tell you why and pay for all hours worked.

What You’ll Do

Core responsibilities (all levels)

  • Produce high-fidelity mockups and design assets for A/B tests, high-conversion pages, funnels, email/SMS campaigns, landing pages, and paid media creative across multiple client accounts.
  • Execute within established design systems and brand guidelines, maintaining visual consistency and integrity across every deliverable.
  • Interpret written briefs, hypotheses, and requirements to independently develop polished, production-ready designs in Figma — often working from a description of what’s needed rather than pre-made wireframes.
  • Support rapid experimentation cycles by delivering production-ready variations quickly and iterating based on results.
  • Ground design decisions in data — experiment results, analytics, and conversion principles — rather than aesthetic preference alone.
  • Be able to explain the reasoning behind your design choices — provide a clear rationale for how a deliverable addresses the brief, hypothesis, or brand requirements.
  • Prepare and organize design files for clean developer handoff, ensuring specs, assets, and annotations are clear and complete.
  • Structure design files with AI compatibility in mind — building clean, well-organized files that downstream AI workflows (e.g., Figma → Claude) can interpret and act on.
  • Manage your workload across multiple concurrent projects, communicating proactively about capacity, timelines, and blockers.
  • Leverage AI tools throughout your workflow to improve both the speed and the quality of your output — ideation, asset generation, iteration, and prototyping.
  • Collaborate with program managers, strategists and engineers to ensure alignment on intent, feasibility, and brand standards.
  • Adapt quickly to new client brands and ways of working — learning their visual language, voice, and constraints, and working directly within their Figma instance and established processes when required — to produce on-brand work from the start.
  • Contribute to and maintain component libraries and reusable templates that improve team efficiency over time.

At the senior level, you’ll also

  • Lead concepting and design execution for complex client engagements — website redesigns, customer flow improvements, paid media ads and landing pages, and multi-channel experiences — from early-stage concepts through production-ready deliverables.
  • Contribute to design strategy: bring a strong UX perspective to planning conversations, identify opportunities, and recommend approaches (while strategists own hypothesis development and journey mapping).
  • Own client-facing design presentations — articulate design rationale, walk stakeholders through concepts, and build trust as a strategic design partner.
  • Architect and evolve design systems for clients and internal use — component libraries, tokens, patterns, and documentation that scale across projects.
  • Bridge design and engineering — design ambitious-but-buildable solutions with an understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS/JS), responsive behavior, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Conduct customer journey analysis, accessibility and UX/UI audits against WCAG, UX best practices, and conversion principles, delivering actionable findings and recommendations.
  • Help mature Cro Metrics’ AI design practice — explore, evaluate, and integrate AI-powered tools (generative design, AI-assisted prototyping, prompt-to-design, asset generation) and bring leading-edge techniques back to the team.
  • Evaluate and recommend design tooling and processes that improve team efficiency, consistency, and output quality.
  • Proactively surface experiment ideas, UX opportunities, and service innovations.

What We’re Looking For

All levels

  • Experience in UI/UX design, digital production design, or a similar role (2–4 years for the Production level; see below for Senior).
  • Strong Figma proficiency — fast, organized, clean, well-structured files with proper components, auto-layout, and naming conventions.
  • A portfolio demonstrating production-quality work across web, email, and paid media — craft, consistency, and range.
  • Comfort working within existing brand systems and constraints rather than always designing from scratch.
  • Experience with conversion-focused design — landing pages, user flows, experiment variations, or similar.
  • Comfort letting data guide design choices — you understand that at an experiment-led agency, results and evidence inform the work.
  • Ability to manage volume across multiple concurrent deliverables, clients, and channels without quality dipping.
  • Strong attention to detail — pixel-perfect output, consistent spacing, correct typography, adherence to specs and design systems.
  • Clear communication — you ask thoughtful questions, flag issues early, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Receptive to feedback — you take critique well, and actively seek it out to sharpen your work and close the loop with strategists, clients, and peers.
  • Self-directed and reliable — you manage your time well, meet deadlines, and don’t need to be micromanaged.

Senior level (in addition to the above)

  • 5–8+ years in UX/UI design, product design, or a senior role blending strategic thinking with hands-on craft.
  • A portfolio that shows how you think, not just what you make — research insights, strategic framing, multiple explorations, rationale, and outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading design on complex, multi-stakeholder projects (website redesigns, product strategy, or multi-channel experience design).
  • Design systems expertise — you’ve built, maintained, or significantly contributed to scalable design systems.
  • Strong technical design fluency — front-end constraints, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and productive working conversations with engineers.
  • Client-facing confidence — present concepts, explain reasoning, handle feedback gracefully, and build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with data-informed design — comfortable using analytics, experiment results, and user research to guide decisions.
  • Advanced Figma — components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping, and design tokens.
  • A clear point of view on where AI-powered design is headed, backed by integration into your own practice.

AI Is a Hard Requirement, Not a Preference

This role requires active, demonstrated use of AI tools in your daily workflow — to support and accelerate your work (ideation, asset generation, iteration, prototyping), not to replace the craft, judgment, and quality that make a designer great. You’ll be asked to show concrete AI-integrated workflows during the interview process. Candidates who cannot demonstrate practical AI tool use will not advance.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience at a CRO, experimentation, or growth marketing agency.
  • Familiarity designing for A/B testing and personalization platforms (Optimizely, VWO, Dynamic Yield, or similar).
  • Experience designing email templates for ESPs (Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, or similar).
  • Exposure to paid media creative formats and platform specs (Meta, Google, LinkedIn, programmatic).
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate to front-end development.
  • Background in eCommerce, SaaS, or subscription-based product design.
  • Contributions to design thought leadership — writing, speaking, or community involvement.

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently deliver polished, on-brand, test-ready designs on time and with minimal revision cycles.
  • Strategists and developers trust your output and view you as a reliable production partner.
  • You manage a steady cadence of deliverables across multiple clients without quality dipping.
  • Your files are clean, well-organized, and easy for developers to work from.
  • You proactively flag issues, ask clarifying questions early, and communicate about capacity honestly.
  • Over time, you contribute to templates and reusable assets that make the whole team faster.

At the senior level, success also looks like:

  • You become a trusted design partner for strategists, engineers, and clients — relied on for both strategic thinking and high-quality execution.
  • Complex projects move faster and produce better outcomes because of your UX strategy and design systems work.
  • You measurably advance Cro Metrics’ AI design capabilities — new tools adopted, new workflows established, or internal processes meaningfully improved.
  • Clients view Cro Metrics’ design work as a competitive differentiator, not just a service fulfillment function.

Important Note: Cro Metrics is a U.S.-based remote company and is not able to hire in CA, AK, WA, OR, HI, NY, or NJ,or outside of the United States.

Design Product Designer, Ordering at Afresh

Designs end-to-end web application experiences for grocery replenishment operators, turning AI-driven forecasts into actionable dashboards and workflows.

Mid Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Afresh, the AI platform for grocery, began by tackling the most complex problem in the industry: fresh, and has evolved into the core AI platform for grocers.

By leveraging proprietary AI designed for high-volatility environments, we empower partners like Albertsons, Meijer, and Wakefern to drive smarter decisions across their entire enterprise.

Following record-breaking 70% revenue growth in 2025, we have scaled to 6 enterprise-grade solutions, with solutions live in over 10% of the U.S. grocery market. Our platform now orchestrates billions of decisions from the store floor to the distribution center and prevented over 200 million pounds of food waste last year alone.

If you’re looking for a role where your work directly translates into massive scale and social good, and you want to be part of the team that defines how the world eats, there is no better time to join us.

About the Role

As the Product Designer for the Ordering team, you’ll own the end-to-end experience for a web application used by corporate users who own the grocery replenishment function across tens of thousands of departments nationwide. You’ll turn complex AI-driven forecasts into decisions these operators can act on with confidence. You’ll work closely with product management, machine learning engineers, and mobile and full-stack engineers to create a holistic end-to-end experience. Your ownership, attention to detail, and your focus on outcomes will directly result in less food waste and real business value.

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end design for a web application for corporate users who own the grocery replenishment function, spanning ordering, exceptions, configuration, and performance.
  • Design reporting, insights, and performance dashboards, from table stakes today toward conversational, AI-powered analytics.
  • Design exception-based workflows and controls (ordering, display size, configuration, order policy tuning) that let corporate users manage operations without technical depth.
  • Shape agentic and conversational experiences that surface AI-powered insights to less-technical customers.
  • Own shared portal services UX (admin, permissions, authorization, multi-role) that no single team owns today.
  • Build reusable components and keep UX consistent across portal surfaces.
  • Ship quickly with the Ordering product and engineering teams using modern AI-assisted tools, and partner with design leadership on cross-product coherence.

Skills and Experience

The following represent the skills and experience our ideal candidate possesses. We encourage all highly-qualified candidates to apply, even if they do not fulfill all the listed criteria.

  • Senior-level product design experience shipping customer-facing software with measurable outcomes.
  • Deep enterprise SaaS experience, navigating complex systems and multiple tiers of users.
  • Product-minded with engineering overlap, comfortable building directly in code rather than handing off static mockups. We think of this as a “design-focused PM or product-focused designer with engineering depth.”
  • Strong systems thinking: reusable patterns and coherent navigation across products and surfaces.
  • Comfort with modern, AI-assisted tooling for exploration, prototyping, and synthesis. Experience with rapidly creating prototypes using generative coding tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across product, engineering, and design.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience designing for AI-powered products: conversational interfaces, anomaly detection, and agentic workflows.
  • Experience designing multi-role, permissions-based, or hierarchical enterprise experiences.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship

Salary Range in US: $138K - $187K

Design Product Designer at CompanyCam

Craft-focused product designer who owns end-to-end design for high-impact features, including new AI-driven interaction patterns, from concept through polished execution.

Mid Remote Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Hi, we’re CompanyCam.

We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.

But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!

The Role

Getting software off the ground is the easy part these days. It’s the last stretch, the difference between “it works” and “it’s great”, that actually matters. We need a craft-obsessed designer who raises the bar wherever they land: someone who brings sharp interaction and visual design instincts, sweats the details that make a product feel considered, and moves fast without losing the thread on quality. That includes designing for a new class of agentic, AI-driven experiences where the interaction model itself is still being figured out.

If you’ve got a strong point of view on what great design looks and feels like, and the drive to get there without waiting for permission, this is your kind of role.

Location: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in the United States. Employees are not required to work in the office or relocate to Lincoln, Nebraska, for this opportunity. Employees are encouraged to come hang at headquarters for up to 10 days per calendar year on CompanyCam’s dime.

What You’ll Do

  • Own design end-to-end for high-impact product areas, from early concept through shipped, polished execution.
  • Apply strong interaction design, visual design, and information architecture fundamentals to solve real problems for contractors doing real work.
  • Help define new interaction patterns for agentic and AI-powered experiences, where the old rules of “screen in, screen out” don’t fully apply.
  • Sketch, prototype, and test ideas at different levels of fidelity to validate decisions quickly.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to align on goals, move fast, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly, invite feedback, and actively participate in critique.
  • Contribute to our design system, helping keep it consistent, scalable, and genuinely useful.

The Impact You’ll Have

At CompanyCam, your work makes a real impact. Whether you’re writing code, supporting customers, or designing experiences, your contributions directly shape the product we deliver and the people we serve. We’re building something that helps real people solve real problems—and we believe that kind of work is best done by a team that reflects the world around us. I n this role, you’ll drive impact by:

  • Raising the craft bar across the product areas you touch, and showing others what great looks like along the way.
  • Partnering closely with product managers and engineers to bring ideas from concept to shipped feature.
  • Shaping how real people get their jobs done more easily, every time they open the app.
  • Helping build a product used by teams across the country to document and manage their work.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally with experience shipping complex, high-quality features for a SaaS product.
  • Proven craft: you know what great design looks and feels like, and you push the work until it gets there.
  • Strong interaction design and visual design skills, with the range to work across desktop, mobile, and emerging AI-driven surfaces.
  • Ability to balance speed and detail: knowing when to move fast and when to obsess over the last 1%.
  • Comfort working end-to-end, from big-picture systems thinking down to the smallest interaction detail.
  • Experience building prototypes to communicate ideas
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive design principles.
  • Excitement for using AI as part of your design workflow, and for designing agentic experiences where AI is a participant in the product, not just a feature bolted on.
  • Agency, ownership, and autonomy: you don’t wait to be told what to do.
  • A continuous growth mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll know you’re succeeding if:

  1. You’ve raised the design bar. Your work gets pointed to as an example of exceptional craft and taste.
  2. You’ve shipped product with real business impact. The areas you own are visibly better because of you.
  3. You operate autonomously. You don’t wait for direction. You see what needs to be done and do it.
  4. Engineers love working with you. Your designs are considered, clear, and easy to implement.
  5. Your peers trust your judgment. When you push for quality, people listen.

Benefits & Compensation

This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary range is $125,000-$165,000 per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.

CompanyCam is an equal-opportunity employer committed to respect, inclusion, and growth. We work hard, take responsibility, and support each other. Great ideas come from all backgrounds, and we carefully consider every applicant without regard to personal characteristics or traits. Even if your work experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply. What really matters to us is your potential, your passion, and your commitment to learning, innovation, and contributing meaningfully to our team.

For any accommodations or technical issues related to the online application or interview process, please email jobs@companycam.com and we’ll respond promptly. Please do not include any medical or health information in your message.

Note: Resumes sent to this email will not be reviewed or responded to. To be considered for a position, you must apply directly through our careers page.
