Front-end developer builds and maintains user interfaces for internal tools while growing into Power BI reporting ownership and dashboard delivery.
Atmosera empowers businesses to redefine what’s possible with modern technology and human expertise. Our exceptional experience across Applications, Data & AI, DevOps, Security, and the Microsoft Azure platform enables organizations to accelerate innovation, enhance security, and optimize operational agility.
As a Microsoft Partner with nine specializations, GitHub AI Partner of the Year, a member of the GitHub Advisory Board, and a member of the prestigious Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), Atmosera expertly delivers cutting-edge, integrated solutions that deliver business value.
You are joining us as a front-end web developer who will own and evolve the user interfaces for our internal tools. Alongside that primary focus, you will grow into full ownership of our Power BI reporting, building on solid, hands-on Power BI experience to take on report and dashboard delivery. Your day-to-day will involve building and improving user interfaces first and foremost, while growing into ownership of our Power BI reports, dashboards, and report-deployment process — all aimed at making our internal tools more usable and our reporting reliable, consistent, and easy to maintain.
We measure success by results and alignment. Here is how we define a “win” for this role over your first year:
• The Foundation — You have developed a strong understanding of the existing front-end codebase, and are already building and updating individual Power BI reports yourself as part of your onboarding.
• The Integration — You have built working relationships with Engineering and with the client-facing teams who rely on your reporting output, and are fielding Power BI requests directly.
• The Contribution — You have independently delivered several Power BI report or dashboard updates, and shipped your first UI improvement.
• Your Impact — You have taken full ownership of Power BI reporting — including report delivery and the report-deployment process — while also shipping measurable improvements to our internal tools’ UI.
• Your Growth — You have become the team’s go-to owner for Power BI reporting and a strong, independent contributor on the front-end codebase.
• Your Influence — You have defined and documented standard measures, naming conventions, and templates that made reporting consistent across programs and clients, and helped shape a new internal configuration-management interface from the ground up.
• Years of Experience — 5+ years (in role)
• Role-Specific Mastery — Strong, hands-on front-end web development skills (React or similar) as your primary craft, complemented by solid, hands-on Power BI experience — enough to take on full ownership of report and dashboard delivery.
• Operational Excellence — Working knowledge of the Power BI data layer (semantic models, DAX, Power Query/M) and SQL, with comfort learning and eventually owning an existing Python-based deployment/automation codebase.
• Communication — Strong written and spoken English, with the fluency to collaborate clearly with technical, non-technical, and client-facing colleagues.
• Collaboration — Experience partnering with engineers and cross-functional or client-facing teams to make sure the right data is surfaced in the right way, and comfort taking over and improving an inherited platform rather than only building from scratch.
• Problem Solving — A strong eye for design and usability, and the judgment to improve the robustness of an existing deployment process by reducing brittle, manual steps.
• Power BI Projects (PBIP) — Experience with Power BI Projects and TMDL semantic-model definitions.
• Power Platform — Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Design Tooling — Experience with design systems, component libraries, or UX tooling (e.g., Figma) to keep interfaces consistent and polished.
• Azure Ecosystem — Familiarity with Azure Resource Graph, Log Analytics/KQL, and Microsoft Sentinel.
These ‘Core Three’ represent the heartbeat of Atmosera. They are the behaviors and attributes we align to every day, defining how we interact, solve problems, and celebrate our wins together. This is simply who we are at our best.
• Humble (Low Ego, High Impact) — We share credit easily, admit when we’re wrong, and view every mistake as a data point for growth.
• Hungry (Internal Drive) — We have a natural bias for action. We don’t wait for permission to solve a problem or find a better way to do things.
• Mindful (Intentional Awareness) — We are conscious of our impact on the team. We listen more than we speak and respond to challenges with empathy and situational awareness.
We value your time and aim for transparency. Our typical interview process looks like this:
1. Talent Screen: (30 mins) A conversation about your background and the role mission.
2. The Impact & Attributes Assessment: (60 mins) The “What” (Required Skills and Core Capabilities). This stage will require a live-coding challenge.
3. Collaborator Loop: (45 mins) The “How” (Cultural DNA and The Core Three).
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

Staff Software Engineer leads complex technical initiatives across product areas, writes code, and mentors engineers while building patient onboarding systems for a mental health platform.
We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one’s overall well-being.
We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.
Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.
About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join Rula’s Patient Onboarding team, which owns the journey from a person’s first interaction with Rula through registration, insurance verification, and successfully getting started with care. You’ll be a hands-on technical leader, writing code while leading complex initiatives across product areas, improving the foundations our team builds on, and helping other engineers move faster through strong technical direction and modern AI-enabled development practices.
Our collaborative team moves quickly, works closely with Product, Design, and Analytics, and gives engineers meaningful ownership over both what we build and how we build it. This role offers the opportunity to improve a critical part of Rula’s patient experience while shaping the systems and engineering practices that help us connect more people to care.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience operating at Staff-level scope or leading complex initiatives across multiple teams or systems.
Strong full-stack engineering experience building and maintaining production web applications, with depth in modern frontend frameworks, backend APIs, data modeling, and distributed systems.
Demonstrated experience leading technically complex projects from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and production support.
Experience working on high-impact user journeys such as onboarding, checkout, registration, eligibility, payments, marketplaces, or other conversion-critical workflows.
Demonstrated experience influencing technical direction across functions or teams, including communicating tradeoffs and driving alignment with Product, Design, Data, or other engineering teams.
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted software development tools (such as Claude Code) as part of regular engineering workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.
Experience building AI-powered engineering workflows, tooling, or automation that was adopted by others and measurably improved development speed or quality.
Experience in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or another regulated domain where reliability, privacy, and complex business rules materially influence system design.
Experience using product, operational, or funnel data to identify technical opportunities and evaluate whether engineering investments produced the intended outcome.
Demonstrated ability to improve engineering leverage across a small team through tooling, documentation, shared architecture, or reducing concentrated system knowledge
We’re serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:
100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)
