Job Description

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll be a supporter, a strategist, a behaviour detective and occasionally the person who teaches everyone to breathe again after a meltdown.

Your work will be meaningful, hands‑on, and genuinely life‑changing for the people you support.

What you’ll be doing

  • Evaluating, developing & delivering evidence-based support plans
  • Creating meaningful goals using a positive behaviour support framework
  • Building capacity in the people who support our participants, families, carers, friends, support workers
  • Working alongside a brilliant multidisciplinary team
  • Championing the reduction (and elimination!) of restrictive practices

You’ll thrive with us if you:

âś” Hold a degree in allied health or a related field

âś” Have experience reading, implementing, reviewing or creating behaviour support plans

âś” Hold NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner status

✔ Don’t yet have BSP registration? That’s okay- we can help you get there

âś” Have a genuine passion for disability support

âś” Have experience working with complex and challenging behaviours

âś” Love working with people and love writing (yes, there will be paperwork)

Job Description

This is a full-time position that will be located at one of our three child and family mental health clinics located at: 2857 Linden Blvd., Brooklyn ( East New York Area), 102 Pilling St., Brooklyn ( Bushwick), or 579 Courtlandt Ave., Bronx ( South Bronx).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy to an ethnically and culturally diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults
  • Develop, implement, and review treatment plans
  • Write progress notes for all sessions conducted
  • Evaluate and assess clients
  • Maintain and update clinical records
  • Provide case management and/or crisis intervention
  • Attend clinical supervision and staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling is a must
  • LMSW, LCSW, MSW, MHC, MHC-LP, LMHC are welcome to apply
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is Preferred
  • Outstanding engagement, interpersonal communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff
  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure documentation compliance
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Dedication to workplace mentorship, education, and team-based care
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is friendly, upbeat, and has a great “can do” personality
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment
